As most of you know my husband is a police officer, today he taught me how to shoot like him (well I attempted). Anytime shooting its always been with the thought of hitting the target or getting ready for the hunt. This time it was practicing 'emergency' situtation. I've never shot like that before! We practiced drawing a lot... safe drawing.. quick drawing.. aiming while drawing.. It really was an enlightening and challenging experience and was awkward too! I had to move and behave differently than normal. It was even at close range and it was hard! I had to pretend like I was walking down the street and he yelled "GUN!". The object was too see how fast I could get my gun out (had my shirt over it and holster snapped), aim and shoot. I was wearing a sweatshirt so right there it kept getting difficult.. and was unfamiliar with the holster too.
In firing the gun its so smooth! Harldy any kick at all.. A lot of flash though. I am so thankful Joe is teaching me to shoot like this! Hopefully God forbid something should ever happen where I would have to use these skills, but I know I can try my best to be ready. I'm glad he is taking the time to better prepare his wife and I get to spend some time with my hubby outdoors and shooting! :)
