I work graveyards as you know. Last night I worked a 12 hour shift and got off work at 0600. It was a fabulous 12 degrees outside when I went to start my car! Well it wouldn't start. Wouldn't turn over not a dang thing. No power. So I have my friend Hailey jump my car. Our friend Kim's lover boy named Mark is walking thought the parking lot. He asked if we needed help. Told him we could do it but if the jump didn't work then yes! He looked at us for a min.. hesitated and said "If I walked away Kim would kill me!" Hooked up the cables and nothing. Nada. No power. He jiggled them and my lights came on and right back off.. So we had Mark wiggle the jumper cables while we got the car started. It worked woo hoo! Battery gage went up saying it was fully charged? Strange. I checked the connectors and they were all good and tight. Oh well luck of the draw and I headed home.
When I get home I turn off my car and turn it back on to see if it will start. Nothing again. Joe's inside getting ready for work so I tell him and wait up to see if he's going to need any help fixing it. In the mean time I checked on Kennedy again. Her room smelt like sweet poop. The antibiotics have been giving her pretty good diarrhea.. uh oh. She's asleep but that's no biggie I change her diapers all the time with her asleep. I pull back the covers and my lil girl is laying on her tummy wearing a shirt and jeans. I look down towards her feet and see a poop covered diaper almost all the way out of her pant leg. Her jeans are still done up. Diaper is undone and the contents are all over her sheets now besides her. I can only imagine whats waiting for me in them jeans. Luckily most of it was in her diaper and on her bed. Hurried and gave her a bath to scrub it all off. It had been caked on to the poor thing.
Its around 715 by this time. I go to check on Joe to see how its going. He's mad and his truck isn't running..my car isn't running and the hoods are up on both in the nice 12 degree weather. His truck would not start. My car wouldn't start. He has to leave for work in 15 min. The connectors that go around the post on the battery had corroded away at the base of the connector so my car was out of the picture. Nothing still with his truck. So I hopped on the 4 wheeler and headed up to my Mom's to get her car. Did I say its 12 degrees outside?
I get her Jeep and head to the house. Get Kennedy warmly dressed and grab a big warm blanket for her. Karli hasn't left for school yet. So I get the kids in the car while Joe is still messing with the vehicles. We head for his work. Its 740 by this time. He has to be in Ogden by 8. No biggie but from work last night I know the sb lanes of the freeway are shut down at the on ramp from an accident. We make it to the county line making good time and he realizes he's forgot his work bag with all the ticket books and everything else we need. Damn! Time to turn around.
So we're on our way.. again.. its about 748. I'm driving fast but not too fast and not crazy. Kennedy was in the backseat yelling "wee haw mommy this is fun!" The accident is cleaned up on the freeway and we get on the on ramp. A car in front of us kicks up a rock and *smack* it hits the windshield. It has a few prior chips on it but cant exactly tell where. We get Joe to work by 801. Yup good timing. That's when I notice the rock that we didn't see where it hit was in the middle of the windshield but didn't star... it sent a crack in both directions clear across the windshield right in the line of vision.. Gotta be kidding me!
Made it back to Willard ok. Dropped Karli off to school on time. My mom took us home and to bed I went. Its one of those days when you wish you hadn't got out of bed.. but I hadn't been to bed yet and its 830! Joe has to work until 6pm. I have to be at work today early at 4pm.. He has no car. I have no car. And I get off work at 4am...My dad is at work... Uh oh!
My sweet Mom went and bought all the things needed to fix my car while I was asleep. THANK YOU SO MUCH! And my sisters husband Tracy came down with my mom and fixed my car! THANK YOU TRACY! So I was able to make it to work on time and Joe was able to make it home from work! Whew what a morning! Lets hope tomorrow is a little smoother! At least he doesn't have to work in the morning..
