Snowy Elk Hunt!

Joe and I took several days off work for the opening of elk hunt. The weather just hadnt cooperated. We decided to go out today. The rain was supposed to be gone and decent temps. We went to the same place that Joe and Dan went to. There was a soft snowfall on our way up. Everything was frozen. Tree branches were glistening with snow crystals, it was absolutely beautiful! Our tires were crunching under the frozen snow on the road. Very bright moon so the trail was lit. We made it to our spot before sunrise. You can see in the darker areas is where Liberty is.
It started out pretty clear. Joe was looking around for some elk. We were sitting just above a trail where they had watched moose and deer travel along just 2 days before. So pretty all around as the sun is coming out. We drove down a trail that had about a foot of snow on it.
Me keeping warm. I had 5 layers on so I stayed nice and warm!!
And then WHAM! It started snowing! We were hoping it would let up but it just kept pouring down. We sat there for a while and decided to head out because it wasnt stopping and we had to make sure we could still get back up the trail with the wheeler

Here is me getting ready to leave
Joe freezing his... well his... Joe really cold.
Thick snow around us heading back to the wheeler
The trail and snow coming down riding the 4 wheeler back.

Stick em up!
When we were almost all the way down the mountain it finally stopped snowing! The sky was so clear and no snow! Dang it!

Joe and his wheeler And then when we hit the trailer it started coming down like crazy!!!
Too bad we didnt see anything at all and it snowed the whole time!! We had fun though.
Here is Joe at home finally all warm!
