Blizzard

This blizzard came with a lot of talk. Supposed to be the biggest one in 60 years! Not so much for amount of snow but winds and white out conditions. We made sure we were home in plenty of time just in case. About 5 min after those dark clouds rolled in the snow started. It was light flurries but the wind was so bad.

About 20 min later
Joe went out to shovel some so that he could keep the bottom layer from freezing and making it hard to remove.
By the time he finished with the sidewalk this much more had fallen
You can tell but Joe is actually in this picture
Kennedy was DYING to go make a snowman. She kept begging "please mommy can i go make a cute snowman with a carrot nose and 2 eyes and no feet!? Please!" So finally I gave in. Figured she'd freeze in a min or two and be back inside and done.
I just let her go out on the front porch and play.
She's never made a snowman before.. and has no idea how to make a snowman but she got to play in the snow. It didnt kill the snowman urge though.. She woke up today telling me how bad she needed to make a snowman.. and she grabbed her snow coat and brought it upstairs saying "Please mommy can I make a snowman.. My snow coat will keep me super warm!"
We didnt get a ton of snow in the blizzard. We did get some good drifts though from all the wind. Really cold temperatures too. It was below 8 degrees that night and about 15 degrees today!

Thankfully we never lost power though!
