Always and Adventure

I had a 'big' Christmas present I had been dying to give Joe. I was so excited about this but it was killing me having to wait til Christmas day to give it to him. I wanted him to be able to have it with out all the distractions of all the other presents and everything else... so I finally talked him into letting me give him his present under the condition that he made that he got to give me mine. I said ok fine I cant wait!

So we exchanged presents.. I got him a .22 Savage Semi-Automatic Rifle in a nice camo case. He did not have a .22 rifle! That's just a sin!! He has about every other gun besides that but not a .22 rifle! His present to me was a .22 semi automatic Browning Buck Mark pistol. I have been wanting a .22 semi auto pistol for YEARS. He found me one! I laughed at the fact we both gave each other .22's for Christmas :)

We went up to go shoot and see how they were... Kennedy of course had to shoot too!

I absolutely LOVE my new gun!

So while we are sitting there shooting..we are about 100 yards or so from where our vehicles are parked. A red jeep pulls up by our car. Its pretty obvious that we are shooting. A guy gets out of the jeep and walks down to us. We are figuring he's going to ask if we are almost done or something. For those who don't know.. its very poor etiquette to approach a group of people who are shooting!

So he comes walking up to us.. He says "oh is there water in there!?" We told him yeah.. then he asks what are you shooting? We tell him .22's. By this time we're both getting a creepy feeling. I've got Kennedy right next to me and there is a distance between Joe and I with him in the middle. Joe and I both have our guns loaded. He starts talking to Joe telling him he cant have guns anymore because he's a convicted felon out of California for a gun crime. Having one in his possession while he was on Parole and he's still on parole. He starts going on about how stupid that rule is because now he cant have a gun. But its ok because he has his girlfriend buy them so that he can still have them.. He tells us he's got a 7 month old baby in the Jeep. At this point his girlfriend gets out of the jeep alone.. walks down past us and walks off into the trees by the river almost next to our targets. The guy asks can I sit here and watch you shoot? Uh hell no you cant. So you know when we've emptied our clips and are venerable?! I'm holding Kennedy and am starting to back away from those two. Its not the fact that he was a felon.. we just both had a really bad feeling about the situation.. His girlfriend comes wandering out of the trees.

At this time Joe's phone rings. Its his home teaching partner Adam. He starts talking to him and I pipe in "oh is he at our house already!?" Joe shakes his head yes and says he's there now. I told him oh shoot they're early we'd better hurry! So we get outta there. As we're walking up to our car the guy and girl start following us. We pass their vehicle and its running with no one else in it besides the 7 month old baby. You can see his little feet kicking. We hopped in the car and took off.

Joe called Adam back and told him you called at the perfect time! Adam said he was just driving down the road and had a strong feeling to call Joe so he did. I'm very thankful for that! Just the simple fact of that makes me know that our uncomfortable feeling from those two wasn't unwarranted. It would have been one thing if it was just Joe and I. He didn't tell the guy he was a police officer or anything like that. We had little Kennedy with us and that changes the whole situation to just getting the hell out of there.
