We went to Jackson with the Blue Knights. Its a motorcycle club that Joe is a road captain for. You have to be a police officer to be able to join. We ended up having 9 motorcycles equaling 16 people.
We headed through Logan Canyon into Montpelier and to Jackson Hole.
We spent the night in Jackson at The Virginian. That next morning we headed out to Yellowstone. Right as we started out of Jackson we hit a little bit of rain.. Nothing too bad. But it kept getting worse. So by the time we got into Teton National Park we had to stop and put on our rain gear.
The rain was coming down pretty good but it let up not long after we put on our gear. Here are all of the bikes that went into Yellowstone. 2 bikes stayed back at the hotel
The Group. Joe and I. Loring and Brenda Draper. Jim Gent and his wife. Steve and Suzi. Dan Oberg and his wife. John Thomas and his wife.. sorry I'm horrible at remembering all the wives names!
It was so pretty!
In my rear view mirror
We headed up to Old Faithful to stop for lunch and take a little break. Here is Joe and I waiting for the geyser to go off.
Next we headed to some emerald hot pots. They were neat and very pretty!

Not long after leaving there we had blue skies and started getting PELTED with rain. It was big fat raindrops that came straight out of the sky with vengeance! They stung your skin and felt like hail coming down!!
So we stopped again and got all our rain gear on! My bright yellow rain coat :) I picked bright yellow because I figured if its raining it makes it harder to see.. and I wanted to be seen!
We stopped at the Upper and Lower Falls. Pretty rainbow! The water was rushing so fast.

Next we went to one of the waterfalls... sorry I was horrible at remembering the names of the places we stopped! It has a permanent green strip in the fall!
Joe at the waterfall
We got hit with rain on and off the whole time but it was nice still. We were headed back and two buffalo were coming right down the road at us. They were HUGE! My parents have buffalo but these were twice the size of them. They made our motorcycles look tiny.
Headed out of Yellowstone
That night we ate at a restaurant in Jackson called Gun Barrel restaurant... we had the worst service there!! We had made reservations for 16 people. They set us at 2 tables. Before we even ordered we told the waiter we needed separate checks for each couple. He told us he couldn't do that because they were too busy and he didn't have time!!! I couldn't believe it! So we ordered and for it being an expensive meal the food was not that great. The steak was chewy and not even that great of a cut. Joe ordered a Pepsi.. the waiter said ok. He came out and told Joe "here's your coke" Joe told him I ordered a Pepsi. The waiter gave him a dirty look and said we don't have Pepsi!! It was just a bunch of small things but they all added up. I know he wouldn't split the check because of the added gratuity.. but that doesn't mean he had to give such horrible customer service! So on Sunday we left and headed home. It was a great ride except for one part. We were in Logan Canyon almost to the upper dam. We had a group of 6 bikes riding home ( a few of the others wanted to leave later) There was the Drapers in the front, Joe, Me and then 3 bikes behind me. We were all close but a safe distance apart. We were where the lane opens to a passing lane. All of the bikes were in the left hand lane. We were going at a good speed and there were no cars close behind us. We were getting to where the lanes were about to merge back together. I glanced behind me and there was not a car close at all. Right as it came to the last dotted line a black Nissan altima came FLYING up on my right hand side and when the driver was right next to me came right over at me. There was about a car length between Joe and I and he almost ran me over and pushed me into on coming traffic. I had to hit my brakes and drop back otherwise he would have hit me. He very much saw me. He had to pass the 3 motorcycles that were close behind me before he even got to me cut between Joe and I. Joe said he was sure I was going to be hit. I couldn't believe he the driver did that but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and though maybe by some chance he didn't see all the motorcycles.... He rode Joe's back tire pretty much the rest of the way down the canyon. He honestly left just a few inches between him and Joe so Joe slowed down.
So we are coming out of Logan Canyon right where the pond is and it opens back up into 2 lanes. The car backs off Joe leaving several car lengths between him and Joe so I figured he realized he was being an ass and was letting the bikes group back up. I moved over into the right hand lane to pass and started accelerating. He moves over and starts driving right down the dotted line as soon as I was on the side of him forcing me over again! I couldn't believe it!!! So I slowed back down again. We I stayed behind him and soon he put a huge distance between him and Joe again. I moved back into the right lane to pass and started accelerating. He accelerated too and paralleled me the whole time not letting me pass!! Finally after a while he cut over into the other lane and passed us all. We were stopped at the first light coming out of the canyon and he was in front of us. We all drove past him and flipped him off. Mature I know but honestly!! He saluted us when we flipped him off and then he stayed behind us the rest of the way down Sardine! The guy had to have been in his 30's too. Not even a teenager! I couldn't believe the nerve of this jerk! He could have easily hurt of killed one of us and he didn't care one bit! People like that shouldn't be allowed to drive! Dumb ass did it to a group of cops on motorcycles and he was smart enough to have a personalized plate.. so if any of you see a black Nissan altima with a personalized plate ORTHLAB tell him what you think of him!!
