Deer Hunting in Cache County

For the muzzle loader deer hunt we went up to Cache County and camped in the Temple Peak campground. I love that area. Its so pretty!! The first few nights were just Joe and I. My parents were nice enough to watch Kennedy for us.
This was our camp. First morning we didn't see anything..
But the view was sure awesome!

The first two mornings and evenings we hunted the same place. My parents both swore there were deer there.. we never saw a stinkin thing.. After that we spent some time road hunting and actually saw a bunch of doe, a spike and a small 2 point.

I dared to get a little more closer than Joe :) I made him a little nervous.
I sure love this wheeler! It is awesome. Climbs like crazy and is comfortable as can be and look how pretty it is!

Fall is my absolute FAVORITE season of all. Everything is always so pretty and I love when the leaves start changing.

Sunrises were amazing!

We hiked down a big ravine to the bottom in the early morning and were on our way back up. The trail was full of deer tracks. So much that they looked like they made a tire tread pattern from the prints...but no dang deer!

We headed out to the main road which is right where Rich and Cache counties meet. We saw a big fire past Bear Lake, probably in Wyoming. Glad it wasn't closer to us!

The second day we saw a ton of doe.. like 15 of them! I'd trail them as far as I could just for fun and to make sure no bucks were hiding close in the brush. They would let me get super close to them! There was 2 doe and a fawn, I asked them where their boyfriends were.. they'd look at me like "Hey I haven't seen him since before the baby came!!" I know they lied.. he had to be close!
We went down by one set of ponds and saw a momma moose and her twin calves. If you don't know much about moose the moms are MEAN. MEAN. Especially if they have babies with them. They'll attack if they think you're too close. They can kick with their front feet too. We were pretty close to this mom and babies but they just hurried away from us thankfully.

We never saw much to shoot at. I missed a nice 3 point but he was on the move at a good pace through some thick trees and brush with a doe. Other than that only a spike and 2 point! There were a lot of deer in there but its so much land and canyons and ravines to go through!!
