Farmington Canyon BUST!

We tried to go hunting up Farmington Canyon yesterday. Tried is the key word. We were going to go early in the morning but when we woke up it had been raining and watching the weather it said it was going to be rainy and lightening. So we figured we'd head up in the afternoon. By about 10am the weather was just fine~ Dang! Joe had some things he needed to get done so we went up at 3pm instead. There were some dark clouds coming in but it looked like they might just stay west of us, or be a small rain burst and blue skies after.

The closer we got the more the sky seemed to change. When we parked it was pretty warm. Little gray but we figured we try and see what happened.
The weather seemed to be holding
And then BAM! It hit. Hard winds, rain, dust flying all over. So we turned around and headed back to the truck.

Thought we'd have the lunch I packed and see if the storm passed on.
While we were eating the rain let up to a very light mist. A few more hunters parked next to us with 4 wheelers so we decided it was time to go out again. See how far we could get.
It was a little colder, so we put another 12 layers on Kennedy.
The rain was one of those mist rains that you don't feel sitting still but when you start going it pelts you!
Kennedy was all warm and took a nap on Grandmas 4 wheeler.
We'd made it maybe 10 min out and decided it was too much. Too cold. Too wet. We were worried about Kennedy getting cold but she didn't notice. She kept saying wow!! I can see my house from here and Grandmas house too!!
So we packed it up and headed home.. as the skies started to clear to the west..but it was a good thing we did because the storm just kept coming!

These clouds were so neat. They started right at the top of the mountain and started flowing down them like an eerie mist quickly swirling around the mountain tops and encasing them!
